Atomic structure in amorphous YNi2

Description : X-ray and neutron scattering experiments were performed on the non-magnetic a-YNi2 alloy. Although the local symmetry is very low, a preferential ordering of Y and Ni atoms related to the crystalline arrangement is observed.

High pressure magnetic behaviour of amorphous YxNi1-x alloys

Description : High pressure magnetization and Curie temperature measurements have been performed on several amorphous YxNi1-x alloys. The results seem to indicate that ferromagnetism disappears in a rather inhomogeneous way.

MAGNETIC CLUSTERS IN Y-Ni AMORPHOUS ALLOYS NEAR THE CRITICAL CONCENTRATION

Description : Magnetic measurements give evidence for the existence of interacting magnetic clusters in amorphous YXNi1-x near the critical concentration.

MICROMAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF AMORPHOUS CoxY1-x SPUTTERED FILMS WITH Mo OVERLAYERS

Description : Magnetic and magneto-optical properties of amorphous CoxY1-x (x = 0.80, 0.35) films (thickness range : 50- 1 000 Å) with Mo overlayers are studied. Transverse biased initial susceptibility measurements are reported. The structure constant S increases as the thickness decreases, i.e. : S = 0.04 and 0...

An investigation of amorphous Gd-Ni alloys by Mössbauer spectroscopy

Description : Amorphous Gd-Ni alloy with composition near GdNi4 has been investigated by Mössbauer spectroscopy of 155Gd and 61Ni nuclei. For 61Ni the average magnetic hyperfine field is very small, indicating the absence of a magnetic moment on Ni atoms. However, there is a broad distribution of hyperfine fields...

RARE EARTH-TRANSITION METAL PERMANENT MAGNETS

Description : High ordering temperature and large uniaxial anisotropy are basic magnetic properties at the origin of coercivity in permanent magnets. An optimum combination of these may be obtained in rare earth-transition metal compounds. Among binary compounds, they characterize the SmCo5 phase, but none of the...

DETERMINATION OF THE DEGREE OF CRYSTALLITES ORIENTATION IN PERMANENT MAGNETS BY X-RAY SCATTERING AND MAGNETIC MEASUREMENTS

Description : Permanent magnet compounds are basically ferromagnets with uniaxial anisotropy. In different cases, the magnets are elaborated by sintering of powders previously oriented and compressed under field. The value of the remanent induction Br is directly dependent on the degree of crystallites alignment,...

SHORT RANGE ORDER IN ANNEALED FexSi1-x AMORPHOUS FILMS

Description : Magnetic properties of as-prepared (sputtered) and annealed FexSi1-x (0.64 ≤ x ≤ 0.78) amorphous films deposited at room temperature, are interpreted in terms of chemical short-range order and compared with evaporated films deposited at 77 K. Low temperature (≤ 30 K) magnetization behaviour follows ...

MÖSSBAUER SPECTRA OF THE AMORPHOUS ALLOYS DyM3 (M = Fe, Co, Ni)

Description : Amorphous alloys DyM3, M = Fe, Co, Ni, have been studied by the 161Dy and 57Fe Mössbauer resonances, doping with iron where necessary. 57Fe-doped YNi3 was also included in the study. Results are compared with those for the corresponding crystalline alloys. Iron hyperfine fields at saturation are con...
